So, the name Kanatal has a past history that back to some decades when a small lake also known as ''taal'' or pond had dried up. Then the people began to refer to it as katana taal.

Kanatal is famous for its beauty. People visit it for its beautiful scenery which makes the mind swell and relax. And you can also have some activities here like camping, trekking, rock climbing, and forest walking with your partner which feels like a romantic movie scene. One can enjoy snowfall in winter.

HOW TO REACH? 

If you're coming by train the nearest railway stations connected with Kanatal are Dehradun and Rishikesh. Dehradun is situated 85km from Kanatal and the distance from Rishikesh to Kanatal is 75km. You can have taxis and buses from there to Kanatal 

Mussoorie from Roorkee and then take the route within the forest to Chamba passing by Dhanaulti to reach Kanatal. The town of Kanatal is 300 km away from Delhi, 75 km away from Rishikesh, 70 km from Dehradun, and 100 km away from Haridwar.
